A new cohort of software engineers graduated from EmpowerWithIT during a ceremony held in Garissa on Saturday.
The class of 2026 graduation is another milestone in efforts to equip young people with digital skills and prepare them for careers in the technology sector.
The event brought together students, mentors, instructors, families, development partners and technology enthusiasts to celebrate months of intensive training in software engineering and related digital disciplines.
The graduates showcased software projects developed during their training, demonstrating practical solutions to real-world challenges through technology. The presentations reflected the programme’s emphasis on hands-on learning, innovation and problem-solving.
EmpowerWithIT Founder and Manager Mr. Abdinajib Adan Bulle said digital skills have become essential in today’s economy.
He urged young people to move beyond aspiring to join the technology industry and instead acquire the competencies needed to succeed.
“Future-ready skills are no longer optional,” he said. “Digital literacy, software development, cybersecurity and data skills are shaping tomorrow’s workforce. We want young people to stop dreaming about a tech career and start building it.”
He noted that EmpowerWithIT’s flagship programmes in Software Engineering, Data Science and Advanced Technology Specialisations—including Artificial Intelligence, DevOps and Data Engineering—are designed to accommodate beginners with no prior experience, enabling them to progress to industry-ready professionals.

Founder and Manager Abdinajib Adan Bulle said the graduates are prepared to contribute to Kenya’s growing digital economy after completing intensive training in software engineering and emerging technologies.

Mr. Bulle said the institution remains committed to expanding access to quality technology education, particularly for young people and women from underserved communities.
“As we reflect on the academic year, we are grateful for what has been achieved through digital mentorship, skills training, innovation and strong partnerships,” he said. “Our journey has been defined by impact, and in 2026 we intend to scale our programmes, strengthen collaborations and reach even more young people.”
He thanked instructors, mentors, families and development partners for supporting the graduates throughout their learning journey, describing their contribution as critical to the programme’s success.
Throughout the year, EmpowerWithIT has implemented a range of initiatives focused on digital mentorship, technical training, innovation and participation in national and community events aimed at expanding opportunities in the digital economy.
The organisation says its mission is to bridge the digital skills gap by providing world-class training in software engineering, data science and emerging technologies while preparing graduates for employment, entrepreneurship and continued innovation.
The commencement shows the growing demand for digital talent in Garissa and across the country, where government and private sector initiatives continue to encourage investment in technology, innovation and youth employment.
