The Inter-Religious Council of Kenya (IRCK) has intensified efforts to strengthen peace and social cohesion in Marsabit County by reinforcing the Saku Interfaith Network, bringing together religious leaders and community members to foster trust and prevent conflict.
The engagement forms part of IRCK’s broader peacebuilding programme aimed at strengthening interfaith collaboration and promoting peaceful coexistence in communities across the county.
During the sessions, participants engaged in candid discussions on overcoming prejudice, addressing misconceptions, and building stronger relationships across religious divides. The dialogue focused on turning shared conversations into practical action to advance peace and social harmony.
Religious leaders and community representatives reaffirmed their commitment to the shared values of respect, compassion, justice, and mutual understanding, pledging to work together in preventing conflict and promoting unity within their communities.
IRCK said lasting trust cannot be achieved through declarations alone but through consistent engagement, cooperation, and shared experiences among people of different faiths.
The council reaffirmed its commitment to supporting interfaith networks across Marsabit, describing diversity as a source of strength that can help build resilient, peaceful, and socially cohesive communities.
