Denis Kaloki, popularly known as St. Kaloki, has made a name for himself in Kenya’s media industry through television and radio presentation, while also helping businesses reach audiences through creative advertising.
A native of Kithangaini, Masii in Mwala Sub-County, Machakos County, Kaloki is a graduate of the University of Nairobi Graduate School of Journalism, where he received professional training in journalism and media.
He told RTG Digital that his experience in broadcasting has “enabled him to develop a strong understanding of audiences and effective communication, skills he has also applied to commercial advertising.”
Kaloki specialises in creating and presenting adverts in Swahili, Kamba and English, giving businesses an opportunity to communicate with audiences in languages that resonate with them.
“I am passionate about Advertising which is more than about the art of selling a product. It is entails telling a story that connects with the audience and makes them understand why a particular brand matters,” Kaloki says.
His ability to work across the three languages has particularly positioned him as a useful media personality for businesses targeting audiences in Machakos and the wider Ukambani region.
“Kamba is a powerful language when it comes to reaching the local audience. When you combine it with Swahili and English, you can create an advert that speaks to different generations and markets,” he says.
Kaloki’s work spans radio, television and commercial content, where he combines presentation, storytelling and creativity to deliver messages designed to capture and retain audience attention.
For businesses looking to increase their visibility, he says professionally produced advertising can play an important role in building brand recognition and reaching potential customers.
“Every business has a story to tell. My role is to help bring that story to life in a way that people can understand, remember and relate to,” he says.
With his journalism training, broadcasting experience and multilingual advertising skills, St. Kaloki has established himself as a notable media personality from Machakos, particularly in the areas of television, radio and commercial advertising.
