The Ministry of Defence of the Federal Government of Somalia has rejected report by the International Crisis Group (ICG), saying its assessment of the country’s security situation is inaccurate.
The ministry said any reduction in Al-Shabaab’s operational activities has been achieved through sustained military pressure by the Somali National Army (SNA) and allied forces, rather than any voluntary action by the militant group.
It reaffirmed the Federal Government’s unwavering commitment to national security, stating that operations against Al-Shabaab will continue until the group’s threat is eliminated and lasting peace and stability are secured across the country.
