Garissa gubernatorial aspirant Mohamed Shidiye has called for greater unity, social cohesion and collective responsibility among residents. He said those values are essential for the county’s development and prosperity.
The former Shidiye urged leaders and residents to work together in building stronger and more inclusive communities.
Speaking in Mombasa during the wedding ceremony of Abdi Raqib, son of Ali Dubat Nunow, and Istarlin, daughter of Abdimalik Haji Sadik.
He said meaningful progress can only be achieved when people put aside their differences and unite behind a common vision for development.
“Unity and inclusivity are the foundations upon which prosperous communities are built. We all have a responsibility to work together and ensure that every member of society feels represented and included,” he said.
Shidiye noted that social cohesion remains critical in addressing challenges facing communities and creating opportunities for future generations.
The gubernatorial hopeful reaffirmed his commitment to promoting inclusive leadership and equitable development across Garissa County ensuring that no community is left behind.
He said his vision for the county is centred on bringing people together and fostering an environment where all residents can contribute to and benefit from development initiatives.
The wedding ceremony brought together leaders, elders, youth representatives, religious leaders, family members and friends, providing a platform for discussions on community unity and shared progress.
Shidiye also extended his congratulations and prayers to the newlyweds, wishing them a successful and blessed marriage as they begin their life together.
