Ogaden leaders in Wajir have declared community unity after a two-day consultative meeting, slimming the Wajir Ogaden Council from 31 to 16 members and pledging a common political strategy ahead of the 2027 elections.
The communique, read by Abdisalam Sheikh Mohamed, also endorsed President William Ruto’s reelection and said the council will guide community-backed candidates for county leadership.
