A total of 20,035 candidates have begun the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) in Mandera County.
Mandera Education Officer Dr Koriyow Hussein Ali said 12,319 learners are sitting the KPSEA across 329 examination centres, while 7,716 candidates are taking the KJSEA in 212 centres.
Dr Koriyow said rainfall in some sub-counties could affect examination operations, adding that two helicopters are on standby to support the exercise where necessary, including the delivery of examination materials.
“We are working to ensure the assessments proceed smoothly despite the weather challenges, with logistical arrangements in place to support examination centres across the county.”
