The Fai Family has officially endorsed Dr Hassan Mohamed as its sole candidate for the 2027 Wajir gubernatorial election following a consensus process involving 56 delegates.
The delegates announced that Dr Hassan Mohamed emerged as the family’s flagbearer after a consultative selection process that brought together five aspirants seeking the endorsement.
According to the delegates, reaching a final decision was not easy because all five contenders demonstrated strong leadership qualities and were considered capable of leading Wajir County.
They, however, said that through prayer, consultation and God’s grace, they unanimously agreed to back Dr Hassan Mohamed as the family’s preferred candidate for the 2027 race.
“The process was challenging because every aspirant was qualified and capable of serving the people of Wajir. Through God’s guidance, we reached a unanimous decision and have endorsed Dr Hassan Mohamed as our flagbearer,” the delegates said.
The delegates urged residents of Wajir County to support Dr Hassan Mohamed’s candidature, saying the endorsement reflects the unity of the Fai Family ahead of the 2027 General Election.
They emphasized that the family remains united behind its nominee and is committed to working together to secure victory in the upcoming gubernatorial contest.
The endorsement follows a consensus-building process aimed at presenting a single candidate for the governorship, a move the family says is intended to strengthen unity and avoid internal divisions as political preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum in Wajir County.
