𝗠𝗣 𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗲𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀’ 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀

Teso North Member of Parliament, Oku Kaunya, has urged young people to seek guidance from elders before making important life decisions, saying actions taken without proper consultation could have lasting consequences on their future.

Speaking to the media at Amagoro Comprehensive School on Saturday, Kaunya said young people should embrace consultation and uphold the values that have kept the Teso community united.

The MP, who also serves as the spokesman of the Iteso community, said elders play a critical role in preserving the community and guiding young people towards making responsible decisions.

He warned that decisions made out of emotions or under the influence of other people could have serious repercussions on the lives and future of young people.

Kaunya also called on political leaders to exercise responsibility by allowing democratic competition to thrive without exploiting unemployed youth for unlawful activities.

He noted that Teso North and the wider Teso region have remained peaceful because leaders freely express their views without intimidation and residents have continued to coexist peacefully.

The legislator urged wananchi to listen to all leaders but make independent choices whenever they are called upon to elect their leaders.
