East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP Falhada Dekow has engaged youth from Abokor Adan in discussions on their aspirations, priorities and opportunities for economic empowerment and community development.
Falhada Dekow was accompanied by former Ijara constituency parliamentary aspirant Abdikadir Shurie and 2027 Masalani Ward MCA aspirant Muse Abdullahi during the engagement.
The discussions provided an opportunity for young people to share their concerns and identify areas requiring greater support, including skills development, employment, entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods.
MP Falhada Dekow emphasised the importance of meaningful youth participation in development, describing young people as key partners in shaping the future of their communities.
“Our youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow; they are partners in building the future we want today,” Dekow said.
She reaffirmed her commitment to listening to young people’s voices, championing their priorities and supporting initiatives that expand access to skills, jobs and sustainable economic opportunities.
“When we empower our youth, we empower our community and secure our future,” she said.
