Police have arrested a suspected serial robber believed to be linked to a series of violent robberies in Garissa Town following a coordinated security operation conducted on Tuesday.
According to the National Police Service (NPS), officers from Garissa Police Station tracked down and arrested the suspect after flushing him out of his hideout during the operation.
Police said the arrest marks a significant breakthrough in ongoing efforts to combat violent crime in the town.
During the raid, officers recovered a motorcycle suspected to have been used by the suspect in carrying out several criminal activities. The motorcycle has been seized as part of the ongoing investigations.
The suspect is currently being held at Garissa Police Station and is expected to be arraigned in court once investigations are complete.
The National Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to protecting residents, businesses and property through sustained security operations targeting criminal networks.
Police also appealed to members of the public to continue working closely with law enforcement agencies by sharing information that could help prevent crime.
“We urge everyone to remain vigilant and to continue collaborating with security agencies by volunteering timely information on any suspicious activities,” the police said in a statement.
