President William Ruto and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa on Thursday witnessed the signing of six agreements aimed at strengthening trade and cooperation between the two countries.
The agreements cover shipping and maritime affairs, gender equality and empowerment, technical and vocational training, arts, culture and heritage, and sports and recreation.
Speaking after the signing ceremony at the Union Buildings in Pretoria, President Ruto said the agreements demonstrate the two nations’ commitment to deepening bilateral ties and building on more than three decades of cooperation.
He added that Kenya and South Africa are positioning themselves to leverage opportunities under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to expand markets, attract investment, boost trade, and drive inclusive economic growth across the continent.
President Ruto is on an official visit to South Africa aimed at enhancing economic and diplomatic relations between the two countries.
