Garissa County woman leader Mulki Warsame paid a courtesy visit to the Kenya High Commission in Tanzania, where she held talks with Kenya’s Deputy High Commissioner, Ambassador Mohamed Hussein Nur, on strengthening regional trade and investment ties.
During the meeting, Warsame expressed her appreciation for the warm reception and hospitality extended to her by the Kenyan mission as she participated in the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), one of East Africa’s largest annual trade exhibitions.
“I was pleased to meet my brother, Deputy High Commissioner Ambassador Mohamed Hussein Nur. Thank you for the warm reception and wonderful hospitality as we continue working to strengthen regional trade linkages,” Warsame said.
The former United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Garissa Woman Representative candidate said the visit reflects her commitment to promoting cross-border business opportunities and expanding economic cooperation between Kenya and Tanzania.
Mulki Warsame has been actively championing initiatives aimed at connecting Kenyan entrepreneurs with international markets.
Her work focuses on establishing global business partnerships through the organisation and management of international and specialised trade fairs, solo exhibitions, product and market research, prospect development, trade missions, buyer-seller meetings and contact marketing programmes.
She said such engagements provide local businesses, particularly those from Northern Kenya, with opportunities to access new markets, attract investment and build strategic partnerships across the region.
The Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair brings together exhibitors, investors, manufacturers and business leaders from across Africa and beyond, offering a platform to showcase products, exchange ideas and promote regional commerce.
Mrs. Warsame said increased participation in regional trade exhibitions is essential for unlocking economic opportunities, empowering entrepreneurs and advancing the East African Community’s agenda of deeper economic integration.
