The Wajir Law Courts have ordered the detention of Ibrahim Ahmed, 32, for 14 days to allow detectives to complete investigations into the alleged murder of his four-year-old son.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) successfully applied to have the suspect held in custody, arguing that additional time was needed to conclude investigations before formally charging him.
The court also approved a request for Ibrahim Ahmed to undergo forensic examination by the Government Chemist in Nairobi as part of the ongoing investigations.
Pending the outcome of the investigations, the suspect will remain in custody at Wajir Police Station. The case is scheduled for mention on July 27, 2026, when the court will receive an update on the progress of the investigations and issue further directions.
