Modern consumers are increasingly prioritizing convenience, access to global quality offerings, and consistently high standards when choosing to dine, according to Java House Group CEO, Priscilla Gathungu.

Speaking during the launch of Java House’s newest outlet at Trafford Park in Syokimau, Ms. Gathungu noted that the brand’s expansion strategy is firmly anchored in responding to these evolving customer expectations.

“As the Nairobi Metropolitan Area continues to expand, we are intentional about positioning ourselves within key lifestyle and transit hubs. Syokimau represents the kind of high-growth node in which we want to be first offering great food, coffee, and spaces where people can connect, work, and unwind,” said Ms. Gathungu.

The opening positions Java House in an area that has seen some of the fastest residential and commercial growth in the country over the last decade, driven by significant infrastructure investment such as the SGR terminus and Nairobi Expressway.

According to a 2025 report by Kimisitu Investment Company, rental occupancy in Syokimau has grown from 70% in 2020 to over 90% in 2024, indicating the areas strong growth trajectory.

The new branch, Java House’s 105th in East Africa, also follows the brand’s visual evolution featuring Java House’s new contemporary design language.

It prominently places locally sourced art that highlights the Syokimau area, deliberately rooting the branch within its immediate community.
