Mandera North Member of Parliament Major (Rtd) Bashir Sheikh Abdullahi commissioned several education and public service infrastructure projects aimed at improving learning conditions and enhancing grassroots service delivery.
During a development tour to the constituency, the legisltor serving a second term MP inaugurated the newly constructed teachers’ quarters at Olla Boys Secondary School. The project was funded through the Mandera North National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF).
The initiatives form part of ongoing efforts to expand education infrastructure and enhance public service delivery in Mandera North Constituency.
Major (Rtd) Bashir Abdullahi said investing in teachers’ welfare is essential for improving academic performance.
“Education is the foundation of our future. When teachers are well accommodated, they are better motivated to guide and mentor our students,” he said.
He highlighted that housing challenges in remote areas have affected teacher retention for years.
The lawmaker added that the new facility will provide a stable and supportive working environment.
The projects are expected to reduce congestion and provide a more conducive environment for both learners and staff.
MP Bashir Abdullahi also presided over the groundbreaking of two modern chief’s offices in Ogorweyn and Quramathow locations aimed at strengthening local administration.
He said the facilities will bring government services closer to residents and reduce the need for long-distance travel to access essential services.
“Our goal is to ensure wananchi receive efficient and dignified services at the grassroots level,” he stated.
The MP was joined by Rhamu Dimtu MCA Eliyas Jimale, Ashabito MCA Ismail Sheikh Hussein, Nominated MCA Halima Khalif, and the Deputy County Commissioner of Ashabito Sub-County.
