Muslim parents and community leaders have been urged to invest in Muslim-owned schools to improve academic performance and strengthen Islamic values among learners.
Kenya Muslim Academy Principal Ahmed Ramadhan made the appeal during the school’s 2026 Graduation and Prayer Day in Huruma/Kiamaiko, Nairobi, saying education was essential to developing responsible citizens and building the Muslim community’s human-resource capacity.
Ramadhan urged parents to take an active role in school affairs and work closely with teachers and school management to improve learning outcomes.
He also called for greater support for institutions that integrate Islamic teachings with contemporary education, saying the approach helps prepare learners for the future while grounding them in religious and moral values.
Kenya Muslim Academy offers education from pre-primary to senior school, alongside Qur’an memorisation, enabling learners to pursue academic studies while strengthening their Islamic knowledge.
Meanwhile, School Director Aden Abdikadir called for dialogue and respect for the rule of law in an ongoing land dispute involving Huruma Mosque, the local community and the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM).
The calls highlighted the role of partnerships between parents, educators and community leaders in strengthening educational institutions and creating an environment where learners can excel academically while developing strong moral and religious foundations.
