Wajir Deputy Governor Leads Sh8.3 Million Fundraiser for Alnisa Children’s Home

Wajir Deputy Governor Ahmed Muhumed Abdi Caato has led a successful fundraising drive for Alnisa Children’s Home in Nairobi, raising approximately Sh8.3 million to support the institution’s operations.

DG Caato said he had the honour of presiding over the fundraiser on behalf of Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdullahi, who was unable to attend.

“Standing in for Ahmed Abdullahi EGH, I presided over a fundraising for Alnisa Children’s Home in Nairobi where a total of about Sh8.3 million was raised earlier today,” he said.

Alnisa Children’s Home currently provides shelter, education and care to 38 orphaned girls drawn from different parts of Kenya.

The facility was established more than a decade ago through an initiative of the Nairobi Muslim Women Welfare Group, which sought to provide a safe and nurturing environment for vulnerable children.

Mr Caato commended the organisers, donors and well-wishers for their generosity, saying the funds raised would go a long way in supporting the home’s day-to-day operations and improving the welfare of the children.

“The collection will go a long way in meeting the operational costs of the home,” he said.

He also reaffirmed the county leadership’s commitment to supporting charitable initiatives that improve the lives of vulnerable members of society, noting “caring for orphaned and disadvantaged children is a shared responsibility.”

The fundraiser attracted community leaders, philanthropists, religious leaders and supporters who pledged continued assistance to ensure the children’s home remains sustainable and capable of providing quality care for its residents.
