Authorities in the administrative capital of Jubaland, Kismayo on Tuesday held a ceremony to commemorate Somalia’s Independence and Unity Day, bringing together senior officials, community leaders and residents to mark the national occasion.
The event was attended by the Speaker of the Jubaland House of Representatives, Sheikh Abdi Mohamed Abdirahman, alongside other government officials who paid tribute to the country’s struggle for independence and the importance of preserving national unity.
The ceremony also involved the raising of the flag of the Federal Republic of Somalia, as participants reaffirmed their commitment to patriotism, peace and the unity of the Somali people.
