A powerful explosion occurred this afternoon along the border between Mandera in Kenya and Beledxaawo in Somalia, claiming the life of one officer from the Kenya Police Reserve (KPR).
The blast struck near the joint control point where both sides meet, in an area known as Kulan. Witnesses in Mandera reported hearing the explosion three separate times, indicating its intensity.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the full extent of casualties, and no official statement has been released by security agencies on either side of the border.
