Garissa County’s soccer team is now officially ready for the 11th edition of the Kenya Youth Inter-County Sports Association (KYISA), set to kick off on April 10th in Laikipia County.
The Inter-County Sports Association Games is an annual sporting event designed to identify, nurture, and develop young talent across the country.
Garissa County Government’s Sports Department has completed the player verification process, ensuring that the squad meets all requirements ahead of the national event.
The soccer brigade impressed during the 2025 KYISA Games, reaching the quarterfinals in a display of skill and determination that earned praise from sporting officials.
The county’s sporting office has assured the team of full support from the administration, emphasizing the importance of nurturing talent and promoting excellence in youth sports.
The KYISA Games aim to identify, nurture, and develop sporting talent among young people. The event also promotes peace, fosters national cohesion, and creates pathways for talented youths to connect with professional sporting clubs.
The verification exercise was presided over by County Sports Officer Mr. Harun, Director Osman Sanweyne, and other key stakeholders.
