Dekow Bishar Urges Wajir South Residents to Secure IDs After Ruto Registration Call

Share:

Senior public sector administrator and Wajir South parliamentary aspirant Dekow Bishar Dahir has urged residents of the constituency to take advantage of President William Ruto’s call for Kenyans without national identity cards to register and acquire the crucial documents.

Dahir, who is seeking the Wajir South parliamentary seat on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket in the 2027 General Election, said possession of a national ID is essential for citizens to access government services and fully participate in democratic processes.

He called on eligible residents, particularly young people who have recently attained the age of acquiring an ID, to visit registration centres and complete the process without delay.

Dahir said the government’s renewed push for ID registration should be embraced by residents of Wajir South.

He noted that documentation plays an important role in accessing public services, employment opportunities and exercising civic rights.

Mr. Dahir also urged community leaders, elders, religious leaders and youth representatives to support the registration drive by sensitising residents and helping address challenges that may prevent eligible citizens from obtaining identification documents.

The aspirant said increased registration would also strengthen civic participation ahead of the 2027 General Election.

He called on residents to ensure they have the necessary documentation before the electoral registration process begins.

Dahir said his political agenda, anchored on “Prosperity and Growth,” would prioritise improved public service delivery, youth empowerment, education, healthcare, infrastructure, water and livestock development.

He added that effective representation begins with ensuring residents can access basic government services and participate fully in decisions affecting their communities.
