Mr. Abdi Ali Rage of the Haybad Qaran party on Thursday attended the ongoing Heritage Consensus-Building Forum in Dhusamareb.
Somali leaders and key stakeholders are meeting to strengthen national unity. The discussions also focus on promoting inclusive governance across Somalia.
The forum seeks to build consensus on priority national issues. These include completing the Constitution, electoral reforms, peace, and sustainable development. The aim is to agree on a shared national direction.
Speaking at the forum, Mr. Rage criticised the handling of the constitutional and electoral processes. He said they were not approached as required and were instead guided by narrow interests.
He questioned whether Somalia can fully exit its prolonged transitional phase without completing the Constitution in a transparent and inclusive manner.
Participants called for openness and broad participation. They stressed that constitutional completion and credible elections are essential for lasting stability.
The forum is expected to generate recommendations to guide Somalia’s political future.
