The Banadir Regional Police have launched a manhunt for several suspects accused of offences against a female citizen following the circulation of videos on social media.
The Somali Police Force said the suspects were seen engaging in conduct deemed contrary to Islamic values and Somali social norms.
Authorities have called on members of the public to cooperate with security agencies by providing any information that may help identify and locate those involved.
The law enforcement agency also reminded citizens that any public gatherings organised in honour of social media personalities must receive prior legal and security authorisation. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
