Cabinet Secretary for Health Aden Duale handed over a 54-seater school bus to Garissa High School on Saturday.
CS Duale was fulfilling a pledge made by President William Ruto during his February 2025 development tour of North Eastern Kenya.
He said the bus will enhance the school’s transport capacity and improve students’ access to academic and co-curricular activities.
Speaking during the handover on the second day of his health tour across Garissa County, CS Duale, an alumnus of the school, said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to education and giving back to the community.
He encouraged students to work hard and aspire to serve the nation at the highest levels.
The Cabinet Secretary also highlighted plans to enroll national security personnel under the Social Health Authority to ensure comprehensive health coverage, and reaffirmed North Eastern Kenya’s support for President Ruto’s 2027 re-election.
The event was attended by local leaders, school management, alumni representatives, parents and students.
