The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, has congratulated President Faustin-Archange Touadéré on his re-election as President of the Central African Republic.
He commended the progress made under President Touadéré’s leadership in security, post-conflict recovery and sustainable development.
He cited the implementation of the National Development Plan (2024–2028), improvements in the security situation, the DDR/R process, and the gradual redeployment of State authority across the country.
The AU Chairperson also praised the Central African people for their commitment to the political process and encouraged the authorities to continue efforts toward lasting peace, democratic consolidation and national reconciliation.
He reaffirmed the African Union’s readiness to support the Central African Republic, in cooperation with regional and international partners, and called on all parties to exercise restraint to preserve regional peace and stability.
