Garissa Women Representative aspirant Nasra Sheikh has praised the launch of the Somali-language book Guusha Gabdhaha (The Success of Women).
The candidate described the book as an inspiring publication that highlights the strength, resilience, and potential of women.
Mrs. Nasra said she was honoured to witness the unveiling of a work that delivers a powerful message of hope and empowerment.
Although written in Somali, she noted that the book’s message is universal, encouraging women and girls to overcome challenges and pursue their dreams with confidence and determination.
She commended the author, Abdifatah, for dedicating his time and talent to producing a book that motivates women to believe in themselves and strive for success.
“I sincerely appreciate the author for investing his time and talent in producing a work that inspires women and girls to believe in themselves and pursue success with courage and determination. Your contribution will undoubtedly encourage many lives,” Nasra said.
She added that listening to the author’s account of what inspired the book was both uplifting and motivating.
Nasra also expressed hope that an English edition or translation would be published in the future. The 2027 parliamentary hopeful said this will allow the book’s empowering message to reach a wider audience while respecting the originality and copyright of the author’s work.
The launch of Guusha Gabdhaha was attended by Garissa leaders, community members, and supporters who celebrated the publication as an important contribution to promoting women’s empowerment through literature.
