Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi Irro returned to Hargeisa on Thursday following what he described as a historic and successful official visit to Israel.
The President received a warm welcome from residents of the capital upon his arrival and said the trip marked a great milestone in Somaliland’s efforts to expand its international relations and advance its quest for greater global recognition.
President Irro stated that the Government and people of Israel had expressed a genuine commitment to strengthening cooperation with Somaliland across several key sectors, including economic development, security, agriculture, water management, investment, technology, infrastructure, and institutional capacity building.
He noted that the partnership discussions aimed to create sustainable development opportunities and mutual benefits for both peoples and their respective administrations.
