Shimbirbul Residents Hail Ahmed Caato as Water Project Ends Years of Scarcity

Share:

Residents of Shimbirbul have expressed appreciation to Wajir County Deputy Governor Ahmed Muhumed Caato for spearheading the completion of a water project that has ended years of persistent water shortages, describing it as a major milestone in improving livelihoods and access to essential services.

Haji Osman Abdi said the initiative has provided households and livestock with access to clean, safe and reliable water.

He said the new water supply will reduce the time and effort previously spent travelling long distances in search of water, particularly for women and children, while improving sanitation and public health.

Haji Osman, a senior resident of the area, noted that the project is expected to reduce the incidence of waterborne diseases, strengthen livestock production and create opportunities for farming and other income-generating activities.

“We have waited for this moment for many years. Today, our children can access clean water, our livestock have enough water, and our families can look forward to a better future.

We sincerely thank Deputy Governor Ahmed Muhumed Caato for making this project a reality,” he said.

Sheikh Abdullahi Abdiaziz described the project as a lifeline investment in the area’s development.

He said reliable access to water will contribute to improved education, economic growth and overall well-being.

“We also commend the Wajir County Government for prioritising infrastructure projects in underserved areas and reaffirm our commitment to protecting the water facility to ensure its long-term sustainability,” Sheikh Abdullahi said.

The completion of the Shimbirbul water project marks a new chapter for residents of Wajir South.

Sheikh Abdullahi said residents are optimistic that improved access to water will enhance living standards and support sustainable development across the area.
