Garissa County Teaching and Referral Hospital has been commended for its remarkable transformation in healthcare service delivery, infrastructure, and patient care under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer Mahat Salah.
Mr. Abdisheikh Ali Buntuq, lauded the hospital’s leadership after paying a courtesy call on CEO Mahat Salah while visiting a relative admitted at the facility on Thursday. He said the transformation was evident across the hospital, citing notable improvements in the quality of services, infrastructure, and the overall patient environment.
Mr. Buntuq said the reforms were evident throughout the hospital, describing the improvements as a reflection of strong leadership, sound management, and a commitment to quality healthcare.
He noted that the Facility Improvement Fund (FIF) has played a key role in enhancing the hospital’s operations by allowing locally generated revenue to be reinvested in infrastructure, medical services, and patient care.
Mr. Buntuq expressed confidence that the hospital is well on course to attaining Level 6 referral status, saying the upgrade would position the facility to serve not only Garissa County but the wider North Eastern region.
He congratulated Mr. Salah, the hospital’s management, and staff for their dedication to improving healthcare services and urged them to maintain the momentum in delivering quality care to patients.
